David Sullivan grew up in Shelbyville, Kentucky. He attended and graduated from Living Waters Christian School (now Cornerstone Christian Academy) in 1993; from Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania in 1997, majoring in Philosophy and minoring in English; and from the University of Kentucky College of Law in Lexington, Kentucky in 2000.

David has more than 12 years of extensive experience appearing before numerous state and federal courts in a wide variety of practice areas, including complex commercial litigation, antitrust, insurance regulation, breach of contract/warranty, franchising, products liability, and tobacco regulation/enforcement. He has successfully represented clients in litigation, administrative, arbitration, and mediation proceedings. Prior to forming Zaring & Sullivan, David gained substantial commercial, tort, consumer, insurance, and other legal experience at 2 different, prominent, regional law firms in Cincinnati, Ohio and Louisville, Kentucky.

David is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Kentucky Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Henry and Shelby County Chambers of Commerce. Active in giving back to the community, he is currently a Board Member of Sparrow Missions, Inc., and he was formerly a Board Member with Avenues for Women in Frankfort, an Associate Board Member for Gilda’s Club Louisville, and a School Board Member of Cornerstone Christian Academy in Shelbyville. He has graduated from the Leadership Shelby program, as well as from the Leadership Louisville Center’s Ignite Louisville and Focus Louisville programs. Married with three children, David is an active member of Christ Community Church in Shelbyville, and enjoys sports, working out, and spending time in the community and with his family and friends during his free time.
